Roberta loves introducing children and teens to the joy of live theatre! Also an experienced Yoga Teacher, Roberta enjoys teaching her actors to be in the moment and connect with their breath. She has directed more than 70 productions for Prana and elsewhere, including adult theatre. Her favorite is whatever she is currently working on! Some of the other shows she has loved directing are Shrek, Seussical, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Twelve Angry Men, The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Winnie-the-Pooh, The Crucible, Inherit the Wind, Harvey, Arsenic & Old Lace, the Front Page, Alice in Wonderland and The Pirates of Penzance! As an actor, Roberta appeared on stage most recently in 7 Ages of Anne. She is featured in the independent film Faux Pas.
Joanne Hines has been the Music Director and accompanist for 12 years of Prana camp as well as numerous Prana shows, including High School Musical, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Annie, A Christmas Carol, and many more. A piano teacher for 20+ years, she also plays in the band and is choir director at CTK Lutheran Church. Joanne has studied piano in the preparatory division, New England Conservatory and jazz with internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Rani Katsenelenbogen.
Julie Murphy (Acting Teacher/Director) has directed more than a dozen plays for Prana, including A Christmas Carol and Henry and Ramona. She has also appeared on the Prana stage in 7 Ages of Anne and ‘Night, Mother and Charlotte’s Web, and has acting in and directed numerous other productions elsewhere. She is featured in the independent film Faux Pas. Julie is married with two children, both of whom are active with Prana. She is president of the Holliston chapter of BNI (Business Networking International) and is a family attorney practicing in Millis.
Amanda Bigelow is a teacher and mother with a passion for theater. She directed and choreographed musicals for eight years while teaching math in the Boston Public Schools, and is thrilled to be involved with the Prana Center. Amanda currently teaches at Framingham High School and lives in Holliston with her husband and two daughters, both of whom enjoy acting at Prana! Amanda loves working with children of all ages and encouraging them to believe in themselves, whether in the math classroom or on the stage!
Karen has lived in Holliston with her family for 23 years and has an Acting and Directing degree from Emerson College in Boston. She has more than 25 years experience in community theatre in all capacities and is the current president of Holliston’s Washington Street Players. Karen was the drama coach at Bellingham High School in the 90’s, has taught after-school acting at Placentino School in Holliston, and has taught many other classes and workshops for both kids and adults in acting and directing. She is excited to start working with the talented kids at Prana
Alecia is thrilled to be teaching at the Prana Center! She has a BFA in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied acting, musical theater, and directing. She has her Massachusetts teaching certification in Drama, and is very active in local community theater. She is currently the Vice-President/Artistic Director of Holliston’s Washington Street Players, where she most recently directed their Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 productions. She has taught in public school and afterschool settings, and is a board member of the Holliston Music and Arts Parents Association (HMAPA). Alecia is very excited to share her lifetime of theater knowledge with Prana students!
