Acting classes are a wonderful introduction to theatre for our youngest actors, and a great way to build your skills in between shows for older actors! Two new classes starting this week!
“Let’s Put on a Play” is our fun class for grades K-3! Young actors will have a great time while learning basic skills they need to be in a real production. The children will have lines and costumes and will put on a brief show for parents at the final class. Teacher Amanda Bigelow is the mother of two young girls and knows how to keep this age group engaged and learning, while having fun!
Prana Center Director Roberta Weiner teaches the older actors in our “Acting and Improvisation” class for grades 4-8. Through age-appropriate games and acting activities, actors learn additional skills and techniques they can use in their next performance. Roberta will also teach audition preparation and strategy to help you land that next big part! There will be a brief presentation for parents at the final class.
After Roberta’s acting class will be Yoga class to help our actors learn deep breathing techniques to free up their voices and reduce stress and anxiety, as well as movements to strengthen and stretch the entire body
