Winter/Spring 2011-12
Classes and Productions at the Prana Center

Aladdin! (grades K-4)
Sing and dance in this fun class featuring the music of "Aladdin!" taught by Prana Center Director Roberta Weiner.  You will learn basic dance steps as well as breathing techniques to help improve your singing, and help you shine on stage!  The final class will include a performance for families and friends!
Time:  Saturdays 10:10-11:10 a.m.
Dates:  Feb. 25, March 3, 10, 17, 24

Life is a Cabaret! (grades 3-8)
Have you been wanting a solo in a Prana show, but haven't had the confidence?   Or would you like to take your solo performances to the next level?  In this class, you will discover how to communicate the meaning of your song to the audience, as well as body language, breathing techniques, and microphone skills.  Each student/cabaret singer will end up with a polished piece for our show, to be held at the last class.  Taught by Cabaret singer Sheryl Altman, who has studied and taught voice and acting for 12 years. She has appeared as a featured performer at Amazing Things in Framingham, and The Steps Off Broadway Cabaret Nights in Belllingham .
 Time: Saturdays 11:15 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

After-School Yoga (grades K-5)
Yoga is a wonderful way for children to learn to relax and settle down - plus stretch and strengthen their bodies! Kripalu Yoga teacher Roberta Weiner leads a varied class that mixes in restorative poses to help you chill out after school!
Time: Tuesdays 3:45-4:30 p.m.
Dates: Feb. 28, March 6, 13, 20, 27

Yoga & Hip-Hop! (grades K-5)
Kim Givens, an experienced and lively Yoga & Fitness instructor, leads an energetic class! The class is half yoga, half hip-hop dance. There will be a presentation for parents at the final class!
Time: Wednesdays 4-4:45 p.m.
Dates: April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Fairy Tale Theater (grades K-4) - FULL - coming again soon!
Create a character from favorite fairy tales and perform a play in this performance class taught by Prana Center Director Roberta Weiner.  You will be fully costumed and everyone has lines!  There will be a performance at the final class. *Every semester is different so Fairy Tale Theatre alums, please join us again! *

Prana Productions!

Henry & Ramona Performance Workshop - Sorry, FULL
(however, grades 4-12 will have an opportunity to audition February 26)
 (Grades 1-3) You will play Ramona's classmates in the spring Prana productions of "Henry & Ramona," based on the books of Beverly Cleary.  Workshop dates Fridays March 2, 9, 16 and 23 plus tech week. We have only a very limited number of spots - sign up today!

Kids Sing Broadway! (First-come, first-served.  Auditions will be held AFTER sign up - everyone gets a part)  (Grades K-12)  You will perform in four shows featuring songs from some of Broadway's most popular shows, from Grease to Wicked to Rent and more!  All ages can sign up and we will be making the final song selections based on you!

Private instruction available!  Prana Center Director Roberta Weiner works with Destination Imagination teams as a consultant and Girl Scout troops on badge requirements in acting and yoga. The cost is $10/child with a minimum of 8 children for a one-hour session. Call 508-429-3470 for more information.

Roberta also does one-on-one tutoring for $80/hour (school presentations, outside auditions etc.)
