Disney's Cinderella Kids!
(Grades K-4 with Roberta Weiner and Joanne Hines)
You will sing and dance in our big fall musical, "Disney's Cinderella Kids," to be performed in three exciting shows on the Holliston Middle School stage! A great opportunity to perform on a proscenium stage and learn some fun choreography and songs as you portray the mice who help Cinderella make it to the ball!

Regular Rehearsals: Fridays 3:45-4:45 p.m. (Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct. 1, 8) at the Prana Center
Rehearsals with the full cast: Sun., Oct. 10 1-3:30 p.m., Mon. Oct. 11 (Columbus Day) 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Prana Center
Dress Rehearsals: Tues., Oct. 12 and Thursday Oct. 14 at Holliston Middle School (5:30-8 p.m.)
Show dates: Friday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., and Saturday Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Holliston Middle School. You will arrive at 6 p.m. Friday, and at 3 p.m. Saturday (on Saturday you will stay and dinner is included)
Everyone performs in all three shows!

A Christmas Carol
(Grades K-4 with Joanne Hines)
You will be the Victorian-era Christmas carolers in Prana's production of A Christmas Carol held over two fun-filled weekends at the Prana Center

Coming up for spring!

A Little Princess
(Grades 2-4 with Roberta Weiner)
You will portray the girls at "Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies" in this charming adaptation of the Frances Hodgson Burnett classic, to be performed in 5 shows at the Prana Center in March 2011. You will learn to create a believable character and everyone will have lines! (There are several parts for boys grades 2-4 in the main cast by audition. Otherwise, main cast is grades 5-12)

Classes

Playwriting
(Grades 6-12 with Roberta Weiner)
The teacher, author of several original plays and numerous adaptations (as well as 5 nonfiction books about education), will guide you through the process of writing a play. From selecting your genre to creating characters to writing dialog and stage directions, this is your guide to creating works that can be translated onto stage! This is not a performance class. (Bring your journal, favorite notebook, or laptop computer if you have one.)

Improv
(Grades 5-10 with Roberta Weiner)
Learn improvisational skills in this challenging acting class! Improv training helps you think creatively, be more confident, and become a stronger performer. You will also gain skills to help you perform better in auditions and in public speaking at school.

Time: Tuesdays 4:45-6 p.m. (immediately preceding Broadway Dance - sign up for both and save)

Broadway Dancing
(Grades 4-8 with Rachel Pollinger and Jinny Pollinger)
Prana's favorite teen choreographers (School Dazed, Cinderella, Summer Acting) will teach you choreography for two fun Broadway songs, to be staged and performed at the last class! The class is designed to help students feel more confident and comfortable with musical theatre dance steps and movements, and to practice dancing in front of an audience. Plus, it's lots of fun! Appropriate for all levels.

Time: Tuesdays 6-7 p.m.

Mondays - Middle School Yoga
Kripalu Yoga teacher Mary Starr Green leads a varied class that mixes strengthening and stretching with restorative poses to help you chill after school!

Prana Center Director Roberta Weiner, a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and children's theatre director, leads a fun class designed to build imagination and enhance children's movement and music skills. The class is half yoga, half singing/dancing!

Wednesdays - Yoga & Hip-Hop! (grades 2-5)
Kim Givens, an experienced and lively Yoga & Fitness instructor, leads an energetic class! The class is half yoga, half hip-hop dance. There will be a presentation for parents at the final class!

Private instruction available! Prana Center Director Roberta Weiner works with Destination Imagination teams as a consultant and Girl Scout troops on badge requirements in acting and yoga. The cost is $10/child with a minimum of 8 children for a one-hour session. Call 508-429-3470 for more information.

Roberta also does one-on-one tutoring for $80/hour (school presentations, outside auditions etc.)
